Shopping for you and the baby

Shopping! Yay!

On to the fun stuff...Baby shopping!
To buy or not to buy, that is the question!

You enter the baby aisle and see all these cute, tiny clothes and accessories and you want to buy everything. But hold on...your baby is going to outgrow any new clothes in a few weeks. And babies don't care about brand names.

Here is a list of essentials, and I mean, the Real Essentials:
• Baby clothes-the onesies are helpful (cover feet)
• Hats (can also cover ears)
• Socks
• Bibs
• Burp cloths
• Mittens
• No tear shampoo and body wash (use the no-fragrance ones to prevent allergies)
• Diaper bag (many come with a diaper changing pad)
• Diaper rash cream
• Baby nail clippers
• Digital thermometer
• Comb (useful to comb off dry cells from head during the first few months)
• Diapers
• Baby Wipes
• Diaper pail (the ones with the lids keep the smell inside)
• Baby bath tub (come with toys)
• Soft towels
• Wrapping blankets to swaddle
• Feeding bottles (if you are not going to be exclusively breastfeeding or plan to go back to work in a few months)
• Crib (not needed if you are planning to sleep with the baby). If you are planning to buy one anyways, they are cheaper online
• Infant car seat (needed to get the baby from the hospital)

And while you are out shopping, why not get some stuff for yourself?

• Nursing pillows (will help you sit back and not have to slouch over to feed, great friend for your back)
• Lanolin (hospitals give samples that should be enough unless you are having trouble with baby's latch for months)
• Personal use Breast pump (if you are planning on returning to work soon)
• Baby detergent (Not a must. But wash baby clothes before wear)
• Nursing pads (saves you from embarrassment if you leak in front of a crowd)
