Where to buy maternity wear?
While it may be obvious that you need bigger clothes, where should you go and what should you buy?
Your stomach can balloon suddenly in the fourth month and your pants might not fit anymore.
Many of the bigger brand name retailers do not have much variety in maternity wear. If anything, they have few blouses, but no good pants to go with them. If you are not very tall, and are petite, it might be difficult to find pants that fit your size and girth.
There are a couple of stores that specialize in maternity wear-A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity. While a pair of jeans can cost $75 in the former, you could get it for half the price at the latter.
If a pant fits but is too long, you could get the height altered for a small price. They carry a good variety of blouses and nursing bras. The bras are worth every penny. They provide support, are comfortable, and when it comes to pumping or breastfeeding, they are really indispensable.
It is a good idea to wear shoes with arch support. This helps your feet support the increasing weight and save your back from strain.
Sleeping can become difficult when your tummy grows larger. Get some sleep pillows, or just put a pillow between your legs and one behind your back for support.
